Maddalena archipelago – Sardinia
Tuesday 27 October: Maddalena
A good cross-wind takes us jusqu'à`l'ile Maddalena, north-east of Sardinia. We get docked a few hours, time to buy a Sim card and permission to navigate and anchor in the park that pays up 31 October.
We can not say that this season the cities are full of tourists in the Mediterranean and activities. Few shops are open, apart from some small beachfront restaurants. We stop at one of them for lunch. The owner speaks French and it is with great pride that tells the story of his family and its origins. We appreciate the warm welcome and enthusiasm us to remember a little history.
The SIM card is found, and it remains for us to go to pay the license for the park to port authorities. Reportedly, it should not be very dear, since we are 4 days of the end of October. To our surprise we are asked to solve 120 euros 4 days while the week is 60 EUR. We are told that the computer system is blocked and they have no choice but to count us the daily rate ... in these cases the computer is still good!!! We leave without permission at the risk of being checked in the different bays. We will see!!!!
We left the dock and go on the island of Caprera - Cala Stagnali, a few miles. It's like being on a lake!
That evening we find that the SIM card is not working !!
We return the next morning to the dock. We leave with a new card "newer" hoping that this time it will work.
We can load a weather forecast and some beautiful anchorages and shore excursions, always with some trepidation compared to the license we do not have.
Porto Palma mooring south of the island of Caprera
We like to find a small dock to moor the schedule and go ashore without getting your feet wet.
Throughout our moorings and hiking, we meet no official park, this is our chance!!
We start with wetting 10 knots of wind towards the island of Razzoli. The wind increases rapidly between 25 and 30 Nodes, the sea becomes rough. We take a reef and keep only released after Genoa. After 2h30 navigation , Finally we cast anchor in the bay of Cala Longa completely protected from the easterly winds.
Some climbing to take a picture... Or see what's on the other side.
We are soon in November, and we still enjoy sunny days with mild temperatures. We planned to go down further south to Greece for the winter. We hope not to have to go out caps, scarves etc ...
Philippe is in top form, soon some candles plus..on not count from a certain age

The evenings begin to be fresh. It's time to go south….
