Lipsos – Arki – Mykonos
Voila 3 different islands... Mykonos where of hundreds of tourists wander through the narrow streets lined with bars and trendy shops, Lipsos and Arki ,untouched by mass tourism , live in harmony with goats, sheep and donkeys. This ass that comes begging to Philippe de herbs more fresh than he has in his enclosure, seems to enjoy a little company !!!!
Monday 4 April: Lipsos, Bay of Kouloura
We get wet facing a small tavern in work. The village, a few kilometres by road, has a nice side, Welcoming and peaceful. Island living on fishing and agriculture so far, each year attracts more aliens in the summer. The tavernas and small hotels on the seafront remain closed, the season begins in June for completion in September.
Wednesday 6 April: Arki - Port Augusta
We decide to stop on the island of Arki in the small fishing port of Augusta to wait and let a gust of wind. As soon as we approach the dock, a fisherman runs to take our moorings. The location and the atmosphere we like already it feels well. The fifty or so inhabitants live fishing and farming of goats. Apart 2 sea front taverns and a tiny grocery store , It doesn't have any other business.
End of the day fishermen repair their nets... and in the stillness of the sleepy port resonates the regular rhythm of the Octopus who fought on the dock to "soften".
Philippe and Conceição are our only neighbors on their boat "JAD". As we enjoy this place they know well, the time that the wind calms down. Aperitif on TAO, then JAD where we meet with Scuba. Definitely Philippe is the friend of the beasts
Dinner in one of 2 taverns with the menu calamari and Octopus freshly caught.
Stroll through the paths difficult to reach the other side of the island, which is uninhabited. Coves and crystal clear waters give us wanna go back by boat in a few weeks....
Saturday 09 April - Mykonos
Crossing under sail and motorboats to Mykonos. A few miles from the island a strong wind rises from the South and we adjust the cap to pass north of the island and we shelter in the large Bay of Panormos.
Desert wetting on Rinia island in the Bay of Skinou a few miles from the hustle and bustle of Mykonos.
We there remain a few days and we are quietly moving towards the "marina"of Mykonos to fetch Sophie that visited us.
No pictures of the "Marina", because this isn't the kind of place that we love: cruise ships and ferries to succeed night and day with strength of Whirlpool and an uproar not possible, the 'Boat Bus' convey their tourists and cross the marina rising waves making jump sailing vessels at Wharf, and the whole thing is under construction with dust everywhere...
