La Palma
A Northwest swell of 4 to 6 meters is announced, with Mr Happy, We decide to retreat into the marina of La Palma.
Saturday 22 October - en route to La Palma
By late afternoon we leave the Baya de Antequera alongside Mr Happy.
A catamaran Outremer 50 light which quickly distancera us.
When the sun rises we leave Tenerife and the Teide behind us.
Monday 24 October - La Palma
The marina of La Palma is located at the bottom of the commercial port and a strong Undertow tired lines of Tao. La Palma is "mas isla bonita" Canaries and we must take advantage of this stop to explore. We rent a car with Mary and Stef, and we're all left to the heights of La Palma. The temperature drops... First stop, Astronomical Observatory.
A little higher then the los Roque Muchachos. In a few hours we went from summer to winter.
And it's cold! A little warm wine would be welcome ..
Not bad eyesight. But it would be better without the clouds.
Quickly we take the road that goes down through the vineyards and we return to autumn.
The harvest ended, but there's still a few clusters that Marie and Nathalie ugliness under the leaves.
Stef seems to enjoy, Although not in the Beaujolais region.
Next stop... collection of chestnuts.
The fall colors are superb. That almost miss us! Even though the heat and the blue sky it's not bad either...
Our pockets are full of chestnuts and Nathalie will have no more excuse to his 'Charlotte to the chocolate' us.
Thursday 27 October - Puerto San Marcos, Tenerife
The swell has subsided and despite a wind of 20 knots with gusts we take two ris and do a upwind to Tenerife. We arrive in the late afternoon at the foot of the volcano "The Teide".
In fact the Puerto de San Marcos is a dry port and fishing boats are stored on a median.
There's no way to go ashore. Tomorrow we return to the sea...
Friday 28 October - the Gomera, Playa de STA. Catalina
After a morning fat small we leave Tenerife behind.
The wind is stronger between the islands of Tenerife and La Gomera, What forces us to take 2 RIS. But once we arrived in La Gomera, everything becomes quiet in the Bay of Santa Catalina.
Tao is wet quietly 5 metres of water with the anchor well buried in the black sand. We are surrounded by crops of bananas in espaliers.
