Marie Galante: All roads lead to the Wom
It is St. Francis (Guadeloupe) that our friends Caroline, Jean-Marc, Marielle and Pierre-Henri embarked. Immediately on board we do cap on Marie Galante and wasting time to visit a rum distillery.
Thursday 5 January: Guadeloupe
While strong gusts sweeping Bay of Deshaie North of Guadeloupe, We go ashore to make our "entry" into French territory. The next day we get around "Low land" and the Soufrière, draw an edge to the "Holy", then go back to the close to wet behind the island of "Gosier" just before the sunset. Three days ago we learned that one of my childhood friends Luke and his wife Hedwig are based in Guadeloupe, and live in a nice house with view of the wetting of the throat. They greet us on the beach and after the champagne, out a very nice bottle to celebrate the reunion.
We spend a great evening on their terrace while monitoring Tao by far.
Friday 13 January: Marie Galante
Yesterday we recovered our friends on the dock of St. Francis. The breakfast is quickly swallowed…
and the three men will make the formalities of exit to the captaincy.
Unfortunately the swell of 2,5 to 3 meters, we cannot go to "Small land". Stone take the helm to sail to Marie Galante.
Small security check to make sure that everyone has a snug lifejacket and that he knows how to use.
Quick stop at Canoe Cove for a first bath, but we cannot stay there for the night as strong Northeast swell enters the Bay. It will be a little South of St. Louis, the handle of the three islets that we spend the night. Immediately raised on the ground, we will rent a car...
And here we are all six on his way to a first step at the Rhumerie Bellevue.
Some pretend to be interested in the process of manufacture of rum...
and are happy to be able to enjoy... 10 in the morning!
The captain is not the last to be served.
And the rum "Pété Bwaget" brings a smile...
Walk in the forest...
then on the sea to come to our senses.
It's hungry as we get to the restaurant Eden sail and we sit facing the sea to enjoy the prawns (Gambas) and the chatrous (Octopus) premises.
The rum is not far away!
The day ends with a walk along the mangrove.
and a photo shoot.
Tomorrow we continue South to Dominica.
