Agricultural fair in Huahine
The wind is not really to the make you to go on Raiatea so we stay a few more days on Huahine to attend the opening of the Heiva, traditional cultural festival which takes place in July in the Polynesian archipelago. Songs, dances, Racing canoes, crafts or agricultural exhibitions are scheduled.
The festival has Huahine begins with the agricultural fair where farmers display different varieties of roots, bananas and other vegetables or fruits.
It's a farm contest and the cassava roots and tarot exposed are gigantic.
The alleys are nicely decorated with coconut leaves plaited and assembled in the shape of fans.
each small stalls is decorated with beautiful floral compositions.
We go to the South of the island to sail along the reef and get wet in the Bay to Havea not far from the Resort to have an internet connection,
but it is the favorite place of the charter boats that are in July. Then as soon as the next day we return to the village followed, by a young man in the dugout who strives to stay in our wake.
We take our road to Raiatea which is about 25miles, with onboard Daniel and his son Taoreva.
