Wednesday 5 October - We leave the Mediterranean
The Cape Tarifa marks the boundary between the Atlantic ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. After more than a year to fish that plastic bags, While we are in front of the Cape Tarifa, the Ocean welcomes us by offering us a beautiful bonito. Not easy to go up while the wind pushes us over eight knots. We must return the Genoese and advance to the engine into the wind to finally lift the beast on board. It was time because reinforce the waves coming from the back and a few minutes later we do an average of 10 knots with surfs to more of 14 Nodes! We cut South to cross the waterways of the freighters and quickly the wind and waves to assagissent.
A small sauce base with olive oil, soy, oyster sauce, lots of ginger and garlic… and raw fish is on our plate. We had almost forgotten the taste of this...
Sunday 9 October - Lanzarote in view
After a quiet navigation we see Lanzarote late into the night. We decide to continue on to the South of the island and reduce the sails to get there in the morning under an overcast sky.
Monday 10 October - Lanzarote, Playa las Murejas
Just after the Cape of Papagayo we get wet in front of the beach of las Murejas we already visited there 6 years.
A ballad on the ground is needed in the dunes and this beautiful barren volcanic landscape.
Friday 14 October - Isla Lobos
A few miles to the South, at the northeast tip of Fuerteventura, This small uninhabited island is an ancient volcano. A popular destination for day charters. We get wet a little away from the charter boats and take advantage of the good weather to go for a ride on the ground.
We put good Appendix to safety in a small lagoon and her back on the beach. And hop! Here we are on the way to the volcano.
Surprising, some plants arrive to push into this desert!
Here, Now you have to climb!
Nathalie finds this a little steep climb.
And here's the view from the top, with the anchorage area and the small lagoon where our schedule awaits...
It's still early and we decide to push the walk a few kilometres to the lighthouse of the island. On our return we find good Appendix to dry and the sea retreated far. And Yes, We had forgotten what are... high and low tides!
Another surprise... the lagoon is separated from the sea by a rocky bar which discovers. It will take the sea rises...
Then we observe the birds that surround us...
Then the Sun and run as you can while the temperature drops...
Finally to 9.30 pm we can leave the lagoon to row and join TAO. Fortunately the full moon shows us the way.
