Final Destination : SYDNEY
We take advantage of the north wind to continue our descent southwards. Before arriving in Sydney, which is about 500 minutes from Fraser Island, we make several anchorages along the coast.
On the way to Sunshine Coast – Mooloolaba
From Fraser Island we sail alongside our friends Johanne and Mark from the sailboat ARALUEN who are returning home. Sailing as a couple is an opportunity to take a few photos of our boats under sail
ou sous gennaker qui a du mal à rester gonflé.
Now it's our turn to photograph Araluen.
Arrival in Mooloolaba
The town of Mooloolaba located along the Sunshine Coast is known for its large sandy beach, Its many resorts and restaurants that delight tourists.
After 10 hours of sailing, the coast of Mooloolaba is on the horizon. The accelerations of the wind can be felt all the way to the entrance of the pass, but once inside, it's a flat calm. We continue to the authorized anchorage area,
Under a darkening sky. Somehow, we find a place to anchor among the many boats on the dead bodies.
The next day we are preparing to put TAO on sale, imagining that it will sell around April/May 2024, which would give us time to explore the coast.
Cootharaba Lake – Noosa River
Our friends take us on board their River Boat to discover the interior north of Mooloolaba.
We spend a superb day of relaxing sailing in the meanders of the Noosa River that our friends know perfectly well to come there regularly with family or friends.

before entering the Noosa River.
Being on the water whets your appetite... On the menu: fresh barbecued shrimp, Salad, Homemade hummus, fruitcake... A delicious lunch in very good company 🥰
Moreton Island
We set off again in the direction of Moreton Bay and the many islands where we can anchor in front of the white sand dunes.
We drive along the famous Gold Coast which is a tourist hotspot with a row of buildings built on the edge of the beach.
Port Macquarie
The weather forecast for the next few days was not great, so we took shelter in Port Macquarie where we stayed for several days.
Port Stephens
Located just two hours from Sydney, Port Stephens is a surfer's paradise, beaches exposed to wind and waves.
We take advantage of this stage to meet up with some boat friends based in Port Stephens. The picturesque white-sand beaches are beautiful,
such as Birubi beach, which stretches for thirty-four kilometres. The tourist attraction is to ride camels on the dunes.
We preferred to enjoy these landscapes before going to lunch and thank our friends for making us discover their paradise...
Boat tour in Gosford
We set off again at dawn from Port Stephens to Gosford at about 75MN for our first tour of the boat.
The dolphins escort us for a long time and it's always impressive to see them having fun in the bow at the same speed as the boat.
The visit of the boat being over, we go straight back to Sydney because TAO is practically sold.
