Welcoming Dominica
Fortunately we have not listened to gossip about insecurity in Dominica. Everywhere we met people proud of their country, who greet us with a smile without begging or bothering us. The terrain is steep and lush vegetation.
Sunday 15 January: Portsmouth
Immediately arrived at Prince Rupert Bay, one motorized boat heading. Daniel welcome us, offers its services without stress and let us find the place that suits us in the Bay. It's nice to not be "attacked" by a multitude of boats that try to sell us their products or services - thanks to country, the Organization of local guides for this good management. The gusts are strong enough and we approach closer to the coast to find the calm.
We cast anchor in front of the pontoon of Sandy' Beach Restaurant, which is handy for Moor annex.
On land there are three parallel to the shore streets lined with colorful houses original!
Natalie and Pierre wonder if an investment is not time! Let's think about it all the same to 2 times.
Probably a good place to repair his computer
We are not alone in the Bay, but she is great. The sun goes down...
Let's get to the "good stuff"... it's time to prepare the planter.
Monday 16 January: Indian River
Seven o'clock in the morning, Eddison is already here to take us for a ride in the mangrove.
En route to the Indian River.
From there the use of the engine is forbidden.
Eddisson begins to paddle quietly all commenting on what surrounds us.
We we glide silently in the jungle The crab "service" is waiting for us on a bank.
Passing in front of the shack of the witch (Pirates of the Caribbean 2).
A downpour surprises us and we wet to the bone just before the pontoon at the bar.
We remove our wet clothes and Daniel took the opportunity to pick up Nathalie.
The sun comes back quickly , Despite the muddy and slippery trails, We continue to explore.
Leaves drip on us
and the flowers glow
Return to the dock to rejoin civilization.
Tuesday 17 January - tour of Dominica
We do not drive to six places for rent, but have the chance to meet Tino who offered to take us in his minibus.
Tino wander us at our own pace, stopping often to enable us to walk... him took the opportunity to replace its brake pads!
Stop to see a waterfall in the village of "Old box" where live Tino.
We go up the River in the jungle... and then get to the top, surprise !! A local asks us $US 10 per person to go to the waterfall! We turn around.
The local cultures of taro, Yam, Ginger... lining the roads.
We arrive on the northeast coast cut off and "wind"
It's time to stop eating fish in a restaurant by the sea.
Tino shows us his "Pierson" mentor with whom he will hunt in the mountains. It offers several days for our next visit to take us to hike in the mountains... tempting! Tino can be contacted at the 225-3790 (tianovictor@hotmail.com)
On the way back the damage of Hurricane Erika (2015) seems not to have left one intact bridge.
Pierre surprises us at tea time
I've never made bread as often, It is getting better.
We all enjoyed our stop north of Dominica and we continue our journey to the South.
Quick stop at Reed before continuing to Martinique...
